Maharashtra showed a stunning performance by bagging five (5) crucial awards at National Summit on Best Practices and Innovations in Healthcare in India 2015. The event which was held in Shimla was organized by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare with support from the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The 3 day summit saw participation from the fraternity of decision makers with the presence of all the Principal Secretaries (Health) and Mission Directors, National Health Mission (NHM) from the states.
The State has achieved significant and commendable health outcomes covering reduction in IMR, MMR, and TFR, the result of which can be witnessed by the number of awards which the State won.
The list of awards which the State won is:
- 1st prize for Maternal Health Survival
- 1st prize for Neo Natal Survival
- 1st prize for Safe Delivery
- 2nd prize for Child Survival
- 3rd prize for Infant Survival
The award was given by Hon’ble Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare Mr. J P Nadda and was received by Hon’ble PS Health Mrs. Sujata Saunik and her team.
